Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 August 2026. Operated by sloprun.dev, an independently operated project (“we”, “us”). Questions: [email protected].
The short version
We collect as little as we can. We don’t sell your data, we don’t run third-party ad trackers, and we store IP addresses only as one-way hashes. You can delete your account and data yourself at any time.
What we collect
- GitHub sign-in. When you log in with GitHub we receive and store your public profile: username, display name, avatar, bio, and website link. We request the minimum scope (
read:user) — we cannot see your email, your repositories, or anything private, and we cannot act on your behalf. - Content you create. Demos, write-ups, and comments you post. These are public and source-visible by design.
- Usage analytics. Page views, the referring site (e.g. a search engine or social link), your country (from Cloudflare), and in-product events. IP addresses are stored only as salted one-way hashes, used for rate-limiting and counting unique visitors — we do not keep raw IPs.
- Contact form. If you write to us, we keep your name, email, and message to reply and keep a record.
- Essential cookies. A login session cookie and a short-lived sign-in security cookie. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Why we can process it (lawful basis)
To provide the service you asked for (running your account and posts), and our legitimate interest in keeping the site working, safe, and measurable. We rely on your action of signing in and posting as your agreement to this.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the site: GitHub (sign-in), Cloudflare (network, security, country lookup), our email provider (to send and receive mail), and our hosting provider. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
How long we keep it
Account and profile data: until you delete your account. Content: until you or we remove it. Analytics events: retained to measure the site over time; they contain no name and only a hashed IP.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your data. Edit your profile in settings; delete your account and data with the button there; or email [email protected] and we’ll do it. You can also revoke sloprun’s access to your GitHub at any time in your GitHub application settings. If you’re in the EU/UK you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
sloprun is for people aged 12 and over. It is not directed at children under 12, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We’ll update this page and the date above when things change. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
