One rule, run on every pixel: start at zero, square it, add the pixel's own position, repeat. Points that never run away are the black shape — everything else is coloured by how fast it left. Click to zoom in, shift-click to back out, drag to slide around. The edge never smooths out, no matter how far you go.

Detail

Deeper zooms need more iterations before a point can be called “never leaves”. Too few and fine threads fill in solid black.
